A two-vehicle wreck resulted in injuries to the drivers of both a car and a truck, as well as the sideswiping of a police car on President Street at Pennsylvania Avenue early Monday morning.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. on September 15, a truck collided with a passenger car near Pennsylvania Avenue by Savannah. The car flipped and the truck landed in a ditch. Both drivers were transported to local hospitals to treat their injuries, which have been described as serious but not life threatening.
Police say that after emergency crews responded to the initial accident, a passing driver sideswiped an officer’s vehicle as they attempted to check out the accident scene.
The truck accident blocked eastbound lanes of traffic on President Street for several hours. Savannah-Chatham police are currently investigating the cause of the crash. No further details are available at this time, though The Eichholz Law Firm will monitor the story and report on any additional findings.
