On Monday night, a deadly boating accident took place on Lake Lanier. Mike Prince Jr. was operating his new Avalon pontoon boat when the boat was hit almost head on by another boat that was being operated by Paul J. Bennett. The impact of the crash sent all of the pontoon’s 13 passengers into the water.
Prince’s 9 year-old son was killed in the boating accident and his 13 year-old son is still missing.
Bennett allegedly left the scene of the accident after 10 minutes. He was arrested three hours later at the Bald Ridge Marina and charged with boating under the influence. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Bennett may face possible homicide charges.
