On Monday, Jon-Ross Snell collapsed during football practice at George Walton Academy. The seventh grader was airlifted to Children’s Healthcare at Egleston where he remains in stable condition.
Snell complained to coaches about not feeling well before he collapsed. Doctors at the hospital treated him for a brain hemorrhage.
Snell is the second Georgia athlete to collapse within a week. Last Thursday, a Buford basketball player collapsed during a workout, he would later die at a local hospital.
These two incidents have people questioning Georgia’s physical screening for student athletes.
