Mitsubishi Motors North America is recalling approximately 733 Outlander sports vehicles, model year 2013, due to faulty seat mounted air bag wiring. The affected vehicles were manufactured between July 20, 2012 and May 29, 2013 and are equipped with leather seats.

In the affected vehicles, the driver side seat mounted air bag wiring may have been wired incorrectly which could result in an illuminated air bag warning light if the seat height adjustment is used. In the event of a car accident, the driver side air bag may not deploy if the wiring is damaged.

Mitsubishi will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and re-route the wiring if necessary at no-cost to owners. Additionally, if the wire is damaged the seat mounted air bag will be replaced. Mitsubishi owners may contact the manufacturer at 1-800-222-0037 and reference recall number SR-14-001 for more information.
