Toyota has voluntarily recalled 760,000 model-year 2006-2011 versions of the RAV4 and 18,000 model-year 2010 Lexus HS 250h hybrid sedan due to issues with the rear suspension nuts.

If the nuts on the rear suspension arm are not tightened during a wheel alignment, excessive play can occur at the threaded portion of the arm, followed by rust formation. This could lead to the rear suspension arm separating, increasing the chance of an auto accident.

According to USA Today, Toyota is working on a remedy for this problem and will notify owners shortly. Toyota dealers will replace the affected parts for free.
