Avandia Side Effects
Avandia, which is the world’s best-selling oral diabetes treatment, is linked to a higher risk of heart attacks among patients. Additional Avandia side effects include (but are not limited to):
- Heart Disease
- Bone Fractures
- Eye Damage
- Liver Damage (Hepatotoxicity)
Among 15,560 Avandia consumers, 39 people died and 86 people suffered heart attacks from use of the drug. This is compared to a sample of 12,283 diabetic patients in which 22 people died and 72 people suffered heart attacks. Researchers found that there is a 64 percent increased risk of dying from cardiovascular illness while taking Avandia.
