accident occurred Friday when a 16-year-old girl was killed while riding an all-terrain vehicle. The ATV accident occurred at approximately 3:40 p.m. on Friday, June 21 in Warner Robins, a city in Hudson County in central Georgia.

According to officials at the Houston County Sheriff’s office, the off-road vehicle was being driven by Joshua Ryals, 17, of Warner Robins, when the ATV suffered a tip and rollover accident while attempting to make a left turn onto Minick Street from North Davis Drive. Investigations revealed that Ryals had been traveling too fast to correctly execute the turn.Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be involved. The ATV was a 2006 China-Joyner Buggy.

Both Ryals and Theresa Bridges, 16, of Warner Robins, were thrown off of the ATV. Neither was wearing a safety restraint. Ryals and Bridges were both taken to the hospital, where Ryals was treated for serious injuries; Bridges died in the hospital Friday night. Officials are continuing the investigation into this incident.
