Shaq with dog attack victim

After a vicious dog attack that left a little girl in the hospital for more than two months and her classmate dead, NBA star Shaquille O’Neal is doing his part to make sure the 5-year-old Atlanta girl is taken care of.

Syrai Sanders and her classmate, 6-year-old Logan Braatz, were walking to their school bus stop in January when they were attacked by three dogs. After months of recovering from the attack, Syrai finally returned home to her family.

To celebrate her miraculous recovery and homecoming, Shaq invited Syrai and her family to meet at the northwest Atlanta furniture store Rooms to Go. The former NBA center and current analyst on TNT bought the family all new furniture for their home.

According to FOX 5, Shaq has been involved with the family since the incident on January 17.

The girl still has a long way to go before she fully recovers from her serious injuries, but FOX 5 says she remains in good spirits.

The owner of the dogs involved in the attack has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and reckless conduct.
