The Eichholz Law firm raised over 230 toys for the West Broad Street YMCA Miracle on May Street event. This annual event collects toys, books, clothing and electronics for children in the community who are in need. Our staff collected toys for children of all ages, from soft animals to puzzles to droids. At the Eichholz Law firm, we value our community, and are proud to be a part of this wonderful and needed charity!

The Miracle on May Street event helps hundreds of families in Savannah make their holiday wishes come true. This is an event that has been held for over 30 years, making it a staple in the community. This year about 100 families were helped. The holidays can be the hardest time for area families, who are unable to afford gifts and toys for their children. The YMCA works to make sure every child in Savannah will have a toy this Christmas.

We had employees from the firm volunteer at the event, acting as “elves” and assisting each person through the section of gifts. They helped each person pick the gifts, as well as help them carry all of the items. David Eichholz, Ben Eichholz, Adrienna McDermott and Emily Bounds are volunteered that this event. A huge thank you to everyone who helped donate toys, as well as volunteered!

The West Broad Street YMCA is one of five remaining Heritage Ys in the country and is located in downtown Savannah on May Street. It serves all of Savannah, but has a special mission for families of the Kayton and Frazier Public Housing Neighborhoods. There are over 500 children in the area from families with a median income of $8,200 per year. The West Broad Street YMCA works to help these families end generational poverty through education and enrichment programs.
